A New Member's Handbook
So you've made the decision to join us here on A Legend Reborn - that's wonderful! We understand that joining up in the beginning can be a confusing and overwhelming process, so to help you along, we've crafted a nifty little list for you to check over as you start you and your character's journey on the site.
Before you register, read the rules and the main plot.
It's always wise to know what you're getting into when you're joining a new site, so the best way to do that, at least here on A Legend Reborn, is to check out our rules and our main site plot. These two reads are essential to know in order to join the community, but if you're a little confused by some of what you see, it might also be helpful to check out the About Us thread that explains a little bit more about the site as a whole.
Get registered!
If you're still on board, then get yourself signed on! Be sure to follow the rules regarding registration and set up your new character name as soon as possible.
Create your character, canon or original. Be careful about bans and ratios!
Now for the fun part - making your character! Naturally, before actually starting, you have to have an idea of who you'll make. Be sure to check the bans in the rules to make sure you don't cross any of those, as the staff have bans in place for a reason and won't be able to take characters violating them. Check over the canon list and look through wanted ads in case you don't want to craft someone from scratch. Once you're ready to make your character and get started on the application, the application itself is here. Just remember the rules regarding applying and wait for staff approval.
Once accepted, get your claims staked and establish some plottage.
Awesome! Now that you're accepted and your character an official part of the forum, be sure to stake your claims via the face claim. Plus make sure we know who you are by posting/replying in the Who's Who thread! It's very helpful to everyone to be able to keep track of who plays which character(s). Then, it's time to get down to the fun and nitty gritty, by maybe getting some plottage done in in our character development board! Get your character on their feet, maybe get a thread or two arranged, and you're well on your way!
Don't forget to immerse yourself in the OOC community too! We're a friendly bunch.
Indeed! We don't bite too hard, we promise. Maybe introduce yourself in the ice breaker board and maybe play some games in the arcade, and talk with us in the cbox! Having a great OOC experience and enrich your roleplaying experience by a lot, so don't be afraid to put yourself out there. After all - we all have one thing in common, don't we? Probably two. We all love to roleplay, and we all love Harry Potter. That's basis for some good friendships right there, I'd think!
