It's been a little over a month since Harry's been back to Hogwarts. A little over a month since he's started hiding from the general public, coming out of his solitude only when absolutely necessary. But an attempted and aborted food run has Harry back to his childhood refuge in search of the only best friend he's got left. And it's a toss up of who needs who more: Hermione or him.
An Awkward Correspondence

It appears Hedwig has decided to step in as far as Harry's lack of current people interaction is concerned. And this leads Harry to having an unlikely pen pal: Draco Malfoy.
